The most popular fencing styles are constantly changing. Our office was curious which were the most popular fencing styles so far for 2019. We put together a chart of fences we have completed this year and thought it would be fun to share the top 5 customer choices.

5. Cedar Horizontal Fence – This is a new one to our list. A couple of years ago we would have completed a handful of horizontal fences per year. However, this year we have seen a hue boom in the number completed. I’m sure you can see why. They look so cool!

4. 4’ High Ornamental Aluminum in Black – Ornamental aluminum is especially popular for fences around pools. We do a lot of these per year and this has been consistent for the last several years. It is offered in 5’ and 6’ heights but 4’ seems to be the go-to! Ornamental aluminum is perfect for when you need enclosure but do not want to block off your view.

3. 4’ High Chain-link in Black – Chain-link has always been a popular option. It is extremely cost effective & durable. This year, black-vinyl coated chain- link has surpassed its galvanized counterpart in popularity. Again, other heights are available but 4’ is the most popular among our customers.

2. 6’ High Rockwood Privacy – Privacy fences in general are extremely popular but as far as wood fences go, our Rockwood privacy in the 6’ height takes the cake! It is handpicked and custom-treated for maximum life.

1. 6’ PVC Privacy in White – Our number one most popular fence so far in 2019 is PVC privacy in white. PVC fences have been gaining popularity for some time now. They offer privacy, durability, and security. Additionally, they require very little maintenance and look new for a long time. Other colors, heights, and styles are available.

Hire a reputable moving company – Seriously, this is money well spent. You will thank yourself later. Hiring a company to move you will relieve so much stress on moving day. This is especially important if you are buying one house and selling another is a relatively short time span. You won’t have to beg friends and family to help, or deal with the stress of not having enough hands to get the job done in time. While someone else moves your belongings, you can be at your new house unpacking, or the old house cleaning up.

When someone has a backyard fence installed, they typically want to enclose as much of their backyard space as possible. This naturally involves going up to property lines (or as close as allowed by your city and association). In order to come extremely close to property lines, it needs to be established precisely where they are. Here a few methods that can be used.

The more mass that the fence has, the better it will be at reflecting noises. Stone, brick, or concrete is the best material for the job. However, these options tend to be a little impractical for use in a residential setting. A more practical and cost-effective option is wood.

Staining is probably the most popular option for fence coating. Stain is absorbed into the fence, so chipping does not occur like it does with painting. Another benefit to stain, is that you will still be able to see the lovely grain patterns that often get covered by paint products. Re-staining is less labor intensive because you will not need to remove the entire previous coatings.

"But still, their tunnels close to the surface can be unsightly and make mowing more difficult. Additionally, mole tunnels can be high-jacked by other rodents that DO eat the roots of grass and plants."
