Summer is almost here and now is the best time to think about your outdoor space. Building a deck is an excellent idea. There are so many things you can do on a deck! Your family and friends will definitely enjoy a new outdoor place to hang out. If you’re still not sure whether you need a deck or not, here are three questions that will help you decide:

1.  Do you like spending time outside?

Fresh air, chirping birds, a gentle breeze… When you have a deck, it’s easier to enjoy the music of nature. You can sit in a comfortable chair outside, listen to the sounds around you, read a book, or just relax with your eyes closed. How does it make you feel? If you feel peaceful and light, then your answer to the first questions is YES.

2.  Do you like hanging out with friends?

Cooking outside, talking, making jokes… Spending time with friends is always fun, and when it’s warm we all want to be outside more. Having a stylish high-quality deck is a great way to be the best host in the neighborhood. Feeling excited to gather with your buddies? Then the answer to the second question is YES too.

3.  Do you have kids?

Running around, playing games... Kids love being outside. When you have a deck, it’s easier to look after them and enjoy the weather at the same time. You can relax on your deck while your kids play and enjoy summer.

If you answered yes to at least one of these questions, you should consider building a deck, or if you already have one, updating it! Stop by our showroom and explore all the options. We will be happy to help you improve your home!

Hire a reputable moving company – Seriously, this is money well spent. You will thank yourself later. Hiring a company to move you will relieve so much stress on moving day. This is especially important if you are buying one house and selling another is a relatively short time span. You won’t have to beg friends and family to help, or deal with the stress of not having enough hands to get the job done in time. While someone else moves your belongings, you can be at your new house unpacking, or the old house cleaning up.

The more mass that the fence has, the better it will be at reflecting noises. Stone, brick, or concrete is the best material for the job. However, these options tend to be a little impractical for use in a residential setting. A more practical and cost-effective option is wood.

Staining is probably the most popular option for fence coating. Stain is absorbed into the fence, so chipping does not occur like it does with painting. Another benefit to stain, is that you will still be able to see the lovely grain patterns that often get covered by paint products. Re-staining is less labor intensive because you will not need to remove the entire previous coatings.
